Breaking News Alerts - It's been 36 times since the music icon's untimely extinction.

On 8 December 1980, John Lennon was photographed four times in the back outside of his apartment building in New York City.
He was 40 years old.
7 days after his death, millions of people paused their daily routines to honour Yoko Ono's request for ten minutes of stillnes in monument of his contributions.
30, 000 gathered in Liverpool, 225,000 in New York City's Central Park. The radios departed speechless, more.
That strength of compassion for this soul, this musician in a banding, has quashed little over the years. His outspoken political activism has moved him a presage for those who have so longed for world peace and "Imagine" has become their perennial carol; it re-entered the UK plots at crowd 18 in 2012 after Emeli Sande recorded a cover for the 2012 Summertime Olympics in London.
His legacy is eternal, though his presence is so greatly missed.

And though he would have wished it weren't so, Lennon's commands still reverberating precisely a genuine today as they did in his own lifetime. Here are a hand-picked few

" Our society is run by crazed people for crazed objectives. I think we're being run by maniac for maniacal resolves and I suppose I'm liable to be put aside as insane for expressed his hope that. That's what's insane about it ."
